Fade-outs are for cowards

If you record a song, don’t do fade outs. It’s cheating. It’s cowardly. You had heart and creativity enough for a beginning, you created a middle part, maybe you had a refrain, a bridge and then you’re fading out? Why not create a decent ending or just stop the song with the next beat? A fade out say, “ah, I don’t know how to stop so we’re just getting smaller and smaller until we’re gone and no-one will notice, right?”. I will notice, so end with style.

Oh, shame on “Hey Jude”, too. For a beatles fan, that’s hard to write, but it’s still true.

What do you think?
